Awards for Contribution to The Arts

PERFORMING ARTIST OF THE YEAR

This Award will be decided by popular vote in the first round, and 50% judging panel - 50% popular vote in the second round. The top five most-voted-for candidates from the first round will enter the second and final round, with their votes carried through, after which the winners and rnners up will be decided 50% by judging panel and on 50% popular vote.

1. Candidates must have performed 6 times or more in last 12 months.

2. Candidates must have either a website or facebook/ bandcamp/myspace/soundcloud page.

VISUAL ARTIST OF THE YEAR

The nominee must have exhibited their work in the UK atleast once during the last year. They must either have resided in the UK for over 6 months during the previous year OR have exhibited in the UK during that time. They must have a functioning website.

This award will be decided by 100% popular vote in the first round, and then 50% by judges and 50% popular vote in the second round, with votes having been carried over from the 1st round.

In the 2nd round The LUKAS will curate an exhibition of the 5 fnalists so that the judges (and members of the public) may view their work (details to follow)

Judges will look for  'Work that makes a significant contribution to the visual arts and engages in original ways with contemporary issues.'

THEATRE PRODUCTION OF THE YEAR

This Award will be decided by popular vote in the first round, and 50% judging panel - 50% popular vote in the second round. The top five most-voted-for productions from the first round will enter the second and final round, with their votes carried through, after which the winners and rnners up will be decided 50% by judging panel and on 50% popular vote.

1. Candidates must have put on the production in the UK  during the last year.

2. Finalists must provide a link to the full performance for the panel of judges to view. If all the finalists cannot provide footage, the result will be decided entirely by popular vote.

FILM OF THE YEAR

This Award will be decided by popular vote in the first round, and 50% judging panel - 50% popular vote in the second round. The top five most-voted-for films from the first round will enter the second and final round, with their votes carried through, after which the winners and rnners up will be decided 50% by judging panel and on 50% popular vote.

1. Candidates must have screened their film in the UK during the last year.

2. Finalists must provide a link to the film for the panel of judges to view.
