Corina Poore (FILM - THEATRE)

As Latino Life's Film and Theatre editor Corina gets to see and study pretty much all the releases of Latin American theatre and film in the UK. Previously Corina worked as a programmer, writer, researcher and presenter for the BBC for many years. She was a DJ on Capital Radio when it was first launched in the 1970s, presenting ‘Melting Pot’ on film and ethnic music. She has worked as an animator on many TV commercials and series (including Farthing Wood, Duckula) and films including ‘When the Wind Blows’, ‘The Snowman’, ‘Heavy Metal’, ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’, ‘Asterix, La Surprise de Cesar’, ‘The Wall’, ‘Wind in the Willows’, ‘Sinbad and the 7 Seas.’ A true rennaissance women Corina has held exhibitions of her drawings, watercolours and etchings at the Schnecke Gallery in Hamburg, Germany and at various galleries in the UK and also plays Latin folk music with the Altamar Latin Quartet (with Wilmer Sifontes, Ariel Cubria and Joan Shenton). She is currently working on a novel and a short, animated film: ‘Fiesta’. Born in Argentina, Corina came to the UK originally after leaving Northlands school in Buenos Aires to study at St Martin’s and Central School of Art and took her MA at the Royal College of Art School of Film & TV.
