Andrea Stewart - DANCE (TROPICAL)

Dancer and Teacher (Salsa, Kizomba, Bachata)

Andrea Stewart is one of the most talented Salsa dancers to emerge from the UK in the last two decades and one of its most experienced and most loved Salsa teachers.

Andrea’s been dancing Salsa for 27 years, teaching and performing for 22 years, and her world as a black female (mostly without a partner) in the Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba world has been, in her own words "interesting...in June 2020, I realised that I was often afraid to speak up for the sake of my career. After the death of George Floyd, somehow I lost my fear and I decided to share on Facebook some of my stories and ask my friends…what would they have done in some of my situations? Hearing the feedback was so comforting, as it turns out I was not the only one!”

Andrea now has her own video podcast sharing stories with teachers, dancers, performers, DJs, MCs and promoters in the Salsa, Bachata and Kizomba scene and discussing their views on hot topics, such as racism, sexism, agesim and sizeism amongst many other things.
